'Shadow People’
This landscape of reincarnation with its cast of shadow people is a synthesis of memory and imagination.
In this series, Duigenan continues her preoccupation with made and found objects and the notion of ‘precarious states’.
Working with vintage photographic images, her figures are placed to exist in shadow. Props and low winter light are utilised to choreograph ‘material afterlives’. A honeymooning couple, a rider in the desert – all taking tentative steps or standing on the brink.
