ABOUT

Elaine Duigenan is a photographic artist based in London. She has exhibited internationally and has work in collections which include the V&A and The Museum of Fine Art in Houston. Her work is represented in the US (East Coast) by Klompching Gallery in New York. Alongside making her own series of work for exhibition, she undertakes artist residencies and works alongside institutions such as Wellcome Collection to devise and deliver special projects. In late 2009 one of her images was flown to The International Space Station by Astronaut Leland Melvin on Shuttle Atlantis.

Elaine is known for being an early and innovative exemplar of Scanography (see her piece in the The V&A History of Photographic Processes: https://www.vam.ac.uk/articles/photographic-processes)  It takes the Photogram (one of the earliest processes in the history of photography) and pushes it into this century.  In her early work Elaine found objects for scanning, now she is involved in making them too.

This website shows only a small proportion of work.  If you would like to see more please introduce yourself and ask to see current projects and work in progress.
